The dovelings have come out from their eggs! And they’re not ducks. They’re doves, as they should be.
Huge doves — I thought they were born Sunday, because that was the first day I saw them, but I’m starting to think they hatched before that. Because they’re huge. Just too big to have fit in eggs a week ago! Or maybe doves just grow fast. It’s hard to tell when their mother sits on them 24/7.
However old they are, they’re apparently healthy, especially their gastrointestinal systems, which is made apparent by the way they’ve left bird turds all over our downstairs bathroom window. Thanks, doves.
